Then blood sample is stored in the small flasks for further testing. They have to label the blood samples carefully. They maintain proper records of patients and donors and serve as the connecting bridge between the laboratory personnel and the patient. They are responsible for handling the equipment required for blood collection.

Qualifications-
Before enrolling in a training program, you must check if you are a good candidate for the training course. The required qualification to enroll for a Phlebotomy Technician Certificate is a high school diploma or an equivalent level of education. Moreover, you must check your grades in chemistry and biology because they are required for admission purposes.

Training Programs-
The description of the training program mainly includes laboratory procedures. Apart from this, it includes- the hematology, immunology, microbiology, and blood chemistry. The course mainly emphasis on the basics of blood structures and its main components, their anticoagulants, glucose, hematocrit, blood cells, blood counts, platelets, RBCs, WBCs, and hemoglobin.

A Phlebotomy technician can serve mainly in hospitals, clinics, blood banks, laboratories, private clinics, etc. There is a high job scope of a phlebotomy tech. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, an additional 28,100 new phlebotomy tech jobs are expected to add by 2024 and it is projected to grow up to 25 percent. The average salary of a phlebotomy tech is $32,710 per year.
